Room with a view

The room is small but at least we've got a view! The final touches are going to be a small night table, lamp and mobile. Otherwise, we're ready for and waiting for our little guy's arrival.

More of the nursery

Here's the other view to the room including the essential supplies! In the right upper corner is the only baby picture we have so far...our ultrasound!

Our Baby's Nursery

Here are the first pictures of the nursery. The crib was a generous gift from Gil and Maria Carmen. We got a little creative with a safari theme! We thought we would add a few giraffes, lions, monkeys and elephants to help look over the baby while he sleeps.

The belly rub

Our little guy is kicking and moving more each day. David is quite the fan of the belly rub since he can now feel and see the baby's movements. I really think the baby likes good belling rubbing too! Here we are about to go out and do what we love to do

Friends and more babies

Add Image Here are some of my friends from the program. Jesse (left) is expecting his baby in June. Odellia and Yoav have their cutie pie, Gil. Then their's me with the belly buldging out next to my good friend Christina!

Our baby shower!

We are lucky enough to have two baby showers! One with our friends around Baltimore and then one with our family. Maria, Todd and their baby Sophia were the hosts for our get together. Maria's spectacular cooking skills made the party a huge hit! We had homemade hummus, guacamole, barbacued chicken kabobs, curry cous cous, grilled salmon...the list goes on and on. All of the adults and babies (including our little one) were fed quite well.

Spring time in Baltimore

After working hard on the house, we managed to find some time to relax. Here are David and I enjoying Sherwood Gardens, a beautiful area surrounded by endless tulips. You can see me in all of my pregnant glory. It's hard to believe, but I'm only getting bigger by the day!

A day at the Tulip Gardens

Bippity Boppity Blue

Here is the start of Phase II! We're moving the house along just as planned. David had some definite contracter skills-note the perfectly straight blue tape line! We loved this color blue and the Winnie the Pooh name only made it more perfect. We'll post the finished product very soon.

The start of the nursery

After moving out the furniture from our office, we started working on the nursery. We made a good team as always. I took care of the design, David implemented the plan which means David paints and I "supervise".

Phase 1-The New Office

Raquel and I were very busy last weekend... we converted one area of our living room into the new office as you can see. It was fun to do, but buying furniture online can be such a pain in the arse. The next phase (emptying out the old office) has begun and is almost completed. Then painting, new carpeting and then the crib/furniture delivery. We'll try to post a picture of the new baby room when we can.

Just playing around now

Just amusing ourselves. Now you can see Raquel's progess with belly growth (23 1/2 weeks now). Her belly is just now looking bigger than mine (sad, isn't it). This room is gonna undergo a major transformation as well over the next few months in preparation. We're trading a desk, computer and diplomas for a crib, changing table and diapers.

Our very own Blog!

This is a great idea. I hope that we get everyone to use it so that we can share all the new pictures of our ever expanding family! Can't wait to hear and see you!

Welcome to the Family Blog

Welcome everyone! I guess this might be the best way for us to keep in touch and share pictures. It's very easy and I hope it catches on. We're all busy, but especially with the next generation of Hernandez's joining us, it would be really nice to see more of everyone. How about this... the next person to log on gets to name our baby! Maybe that's a little incentive.

Naming the Baby

I guess I get to name the baby as I am the first one to log in. Anyway, a friend from work showed me how to do this and it's great. His family is all over the US (including Tampa actually) and they use it to keep in touch every few days. I think we can make this work.
